Abstract
The multifactorial neurodegenerative disease, Alzheimer's disease, gradually leads to memory loss, changes in behavior, and even death. Tau tangles and amyloid-β are the key hallmarks of Alzheimer's Disease Rho-associated protein kinases (ROCKs). The main focus in this book chapter is signaling messengers playing an essential role in brain pathologies. In the following chapter, control of the blood-brain barrier, neuroinflammation, dendritic spines, neuroprotection, and neuro-regeneration through ROCK inhibitors in Alzheimer's Disease has been discussed. Because of the explanation of Rho GTPases considered the potential Alzheimer's Disease target, drug developments imparting novel appliances are the recent advancement in Alzheimer's Diseaseand Rho GTPases. This book chapter also summarizes the function of ROCKs in Alzheimer's Diseasepathology. Finally, we also focus on the behavioral models of Alzheimer's Disease, which are modulated by ROCK inhibitors. So overall, the chapter focuses on ROCKs I and II as a beneficial therapeutic target that modulates Alzheimer's Disease. © 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
