Abstract
Animals exhibit flexible, stable, adaptable movements in complex environments and even when subjected to perturbations. They have inherent proprioceptive feedback loop strongly coupled with the central nervous system to shape the motor behavior as per their needs. The objective of this thesis is two folds. Firstly, to develop a method to integrate two different simulation engines, namely Opensim and NEUROiD (neural and biomechanical) that realizes the biological motor loop. The combined platform we hope, will be useful to understand various movement disorders as well as mechanisms behind them. The second objective is to develop an API on the top of this integrated neuromechanical(NEUROiD+Opensim) platform to enable the development and testing of various control algorithms to understand supraspinal control.
