Abstract

We calculate segment density distribution of polymers at interfaces using both analytical approach and numerical approach. Firstly, in an analytical approach we use the elastic free energy of diblock-copolymer as suggested by A. N .Semenov [1] to derive local extension of a chain and free chain end distribution. Further, we discuss a similar kind of approach used by Zhulina et al.[2] to calculate segment density distribution and free chain end distribution of polymer brush system grafted on planar substrates. Secondly, we discuss a numerical approach used by Scheutjens and Fleer [3] to calculate segment density distribution from a modi!cation of DiMarzio and Rubin’s matrix formalism [4]
