Abstract
In this paper a S-shaped millimeter wave half-wavelength dipole antenna is designed and analyzed for unlicensed ultra-wide band available at 60 GHz frequency (57 GHz to 64 GHz). Geometry of this antenna consists of two semi-circular arms of size quarter wavelength each. It is an omni-directional antenna with its maximum gain at an elevation angle of 63°. Antenna parameters like Radiated fields, directivity, power density, and input impedance are formulated and these theoretical results are plotted using MATLAB. Validation of these theoretical results are done by comparing with the simulated results obtained by using tool HFSS. The geometry of the proposed antenna gives advantage over planar antennas like ease of fabrication and can be embroidered on fabric.
