Abstract

Before takeoff, pilots and aircraft crew members will walk around the aircraft, in and out, to inspect and ensure that the aircraft is safe for a hassle free flight, from takeoff to landing, no matter whether the aircraft is a commercial, private or other purpose aircraft. Like any other work, efficiency increases if a pilot or crew member gets training before starting his/her actual responsibility. However, it is not possible to provide training with the actual aircraft as access to an aircraft will increase the training cost. Also, there are a variety of aircraft and providing a hands-on training (experience) on every single type of aircraft would not be feasible in a real life scenario. This is where the “Immersive Virtual Reality” will help in overcoming these hurdles. Through VR it is possible to provide trainees with real life scenarios, VR based environment, at lower cost and provide them hands-on experience with all the available types of aircraft, which they might not have gotten otherwise.
