Abstract

Hyderabad is the capital of southern India’s Telangana state, founded by Quli Qutub Shah in 1591. It is unique in its rich architectural glory and blends of diverse linguistic, religious and ethnic groups. Hayat Bakshi Begum was the most influential lady of medieval Deccan. She lorded over the affairs of the Golconda kingdom first as a daughter, then consort and finally as Queen Mother during the reign of three kings of the Qutub Shahi dynasty. Only in her twenties, she became the Queen Mother, or Ma Saheeba, as she is known to this day. She played an important role in the history of Hyderabad. Children prefer listening to stories in early age. Storybooks play a very important role in an earlier stage of a child. To gain knowledge and remember it for further in future, stories are one of the medium to educate children from a young age about any knowledge. For preserving the ancient history, storybook can be a good medium through which we can pass this knowledge to the younger generation. Depicting the story of the Hayat Bakshi Begum, Queen of Hyderabad, using illustration in a form of a storybook for children in order to preserve the history of Hyderabad and enlightening the children about the great queen. Focusing on the exploration of illustration styles and understanding the importance of storytelling narrative skill. Children Storybooks are produced purposely to read look at and enjoy the knowledge in the form of a story. This can be a method of teaching directly or indirectly by illustration. Innovative attempts at education and his attitudes toward the usage of illustration for children. Pictures are the most intelligible books that children can look upon. Storybook can be a good medium to introduce the ancient history through which we can pass on this knowledge to the younger generation for future.
