Abstract

The effect of Y-Mn co-doped Bi1-xYxFe0.95Mn0.05O3 (x = 0, 0.03) on structural, magnetic and dielectric properties are investigated. Both BFO and BY3FMO are prepared by conventional solid state reaction method. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis confirms the formation of single phase BFO after Y-Mn co-doping. Field Effect Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) micrograph reveals the reduction in grain size. Shift in ferroelectric transition (Tc) from 8330C to 8440C is observed from Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) in the vicinity of BFO. An increase in band gap is observed for BY3FMO (Eg = 2.10 eV) from UV-Visible Spectroscopy. An enhanced weak ferromagnetic behavior is observed at Room temperature after Y-Mn co-doping. Room temperature dielectric behavior is observed for BFO and BY3FMO.
