Abstract

Starting from the Standard Model of Particle Physics in which, we will discuss about the invariance of free Dirac Lagrangian under the local gauge group SU¹2ºL�U¹1ºY . After discussing Higgs sector we will move towards Yukawa sector in which quark mixing and lepton mixing will be covered. Then we will study properties of neutrino mixing matrix considering both Dirac and Majorana case. Further we will go to neutrino oscillations in vacuum and calculate probability in both two and three flavor case and discuss the experimental findings. At last, we will cover neutrino oscillations in matter with uniform density background.
