Abstract

This is a report for the study of magnetization reversal and control of the vortex chirality in nano sized circular disk. Magnetization reversal process in nano disk is the function of diameter and thickness of the disk. By changing the thickness or diameter of the disk, magnetization reversal is studied. Here we are going to discuss magnetization reversal in a nano disk having thickness very small as compared to the diameter of the disk. For this work, OOMMF- Object Oriented Micromagnetic Frame work micromagnetic simulation tool is used. In this way by micromagnetic simulation, we will see the behavior of the magnetization in response of applied magnetic field during magnetization reversal process. After all this, we will try to control the vortex chirality in a nano disk using dipole coupled nanomagnets. Dipole coupling interaction between the disk and rhomboid nanomagnets is used and a selective vortex chirality (clockwise or counterclockwise) is obtained.
