Abstract

Quantum electrodynamics (QED) is the quantum mechanical counterpart of classical electrodynamics which describes the phenomena involving electrically charged particles and photons. Quantum electrodynamics is obtained by quantizing classical electrodynamics. The behaviour of elementary particles is analysed by measuring cross sections in the scattering experiment. I have calculated cross sections for the annihilation of electron and positron into a muon and also for Compton scattering.
