Abstract

Folktales (or folktales ) are stories passed down through generations, mainly by telling. Different kinds of folktales include fairy tales (or fairytales), tall tales, trickster tales, myths, and legends. In Telangana state, there are several castes and tribes which are story tellers. Their main business is telling stories on various occasions like Diwali and Dussera. Their stories are mainly focus on nature, goddess and daytoday life. With the time they have improved their story telling by playing instruments. These castes and tribes are spreaded in all over Telangana. Telangana is a less-rainy region. In the old times of Telangana, people thought of making reservoir to reserve water. So several people came together for for several work like building dam, maintaining dam, farming, fishing, cleaning the water, irrigation etc. According to their work they build the communities. As it was a longer procedure, these people were together for several years and because of that they started celebrating their festivals together.meanwhile working,because of several good and bad inci - dents,they built some stories which became folklore of that community and they passes those stories to generations to genera - tions.because this people were very close to nature those stories are more related to nature.
