Abstract

The reaction of bone to changes in mechanical loading is discussed via simulating the relevant conditions in a femur bone. The mass growth can be considered to be a factor of only internal conditions and keeping in mind that Bone is homogeneous. This means density is preserved and that the constitutive relations depend only on the deformation gradient and not on the material coordinates. The hyperelastic behaviour of bone is assumed.Modi ed material time derivatives have been used to take care of the objectivity of the spatial tensor elds. The mass growth is observed as a single peak as soon as the load is applied and equilibrium reaches afterwards.
