Abstract

Lead free ( Na 0.5 Bi 0.5 - x Nd x TiO 3 ) ceramics were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method takin g two different compositi ons (X=0,0.01). They phase composition and particle morphology of the as prepared powder were characterized by X - Ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM) and transmission electron microscope(TEM). The derived key parameter of the powder prep aration was of: NaOH concentration of 16mol, reaction temperature of about 200 o C and the reaction time was above 48hrs . Both XRD and SEM observation revealed that the crystallization and particles morphology of the powder were strongly related to the key p arameter of NaOH concentration, reaction temperature and the reaction time . Nano whiskers of NBT were obtained via increas ing the concentration of NaOH , the reaction time or the reaction temperature.
