Abstract

We studied the effect of different deposition potential on electrodeposited CoFe alloy thin films on optimized electrochemical bath. Nanocrystalline nature of the film shows lower roughness, less stress. Coercivity of the grown films are influenced by the deposition potential, the lower the potential higher is the coercivity. All the films show an in-plane easy axis. Scanning probe microscopy reveals nice grain structure with low roughness. Weak but clear magnetic contrast is visible with no correlation with surface topography.
