Abstract

Materials which have simultaneous co-existence of any two ferroic orders such as ferroel ectricity, ferro/antiferro-magnetism and ferroelasticity are called multiferroics. These materials are potential candidates for device applications such as memory devices, microelectronics and spintronics, etc. Among all ABO3perovskite based multiferroic materials, BiFeO3(BFO) is fascinating because of its room temperature multiferroism with high ferroelectric transition temperature (TC= 1103 K) and Néel temperature (TN= 643 K).
