Abstract

A simple high yielding and highly efficient synthesis of oxazoline ring fused with uracil moiety is reported. Hypervalent iodine (PIDA) in the presence of BF3–OEt2 generates an effective electrophile to activate uracil C5–C6 double bond leading to heterocyclization.
