Abstract

This chapter is an endeavor to provide the valuable information on the role of heterogeneous catalysis in the green synthesis of chemicals for sustainable future. Heterogeneous catalysis plays a key role in the development of technology for the production of green chemicals from biomass-derived platform chemicals under environmentally benign processes. Thus, there is an increasing requirement for more environmentally and ecofriendly technologies for various industries. This situation tendency concerning about what is known as “Green Chemistry” or “Sustainable Technology” fundamentals a model shifts from traditional concepts to the new technologies that reduces waste at source and avoids the use of toxic and hazardous materials. © 2020 Elsevier Inc.
